Before scanning, make sure your flatbed surface is clean with no dusts or fingerprints. You can spray a small amount of window cleaner on a lint-free cloth, wipe, and then dry with another cloth.

• If your photos will be use for print:
Scan them at a minimum of 300 dpi. Keep in mind that the photo you are scanning is going to display much larger on your monitor than the original picture or page.

• If your photos will be for online usage:
These are photos for websites such as Online Portfolios (MySpace, Friendster, Xanga etc), web advertising, email attachments, a minimum 72 or 96 dpi scan will do.

JPEG file (.jpg, .jpeg) saved with the highest quality setting.

.tiff and .bmp formats are also accepted.
